The third date rule says that the two people dating each other make love on their third date. Now this obviously depends on both the people if they are comfortable enough to take a level higher but in reality, this is not something which is very strictly followed. Let me first tell you that how this third date rule came into existence.

Starting from the first date, it is the time when you both start the dating process and use your first date as a tool to know each other. It is the time when you both talk and talk a lot. Once you both know each other better, you can see if anything clicked between the two to take it forward to the second date.

The second date is where you both are supposed to have fun and enjoy the time together. It is to see and match the interest levels and see if it is possible to have fun and enjoy together.

If the you both enjoyed your company in the first two dates and want to go for the third date, it is often assumed that a lot has clicked between you two and that is why you wish to see each other once again. Now you know each other well and have also had a good time together, so what is left to decide that you can have a serious relationship? The third date is all about giving a confirmation that now it is time to take things to another level which is nothing less than getting physical, from kiss to even making love. Most of the talking is done during the first two dates, so nothing really is left to do in the third date than getting intimate.

There came the existence and belief that it all happens in the third date, and a rule named as third date rule was formed  which suggests that the two make love on their third date. So talking more on third date, I believe a good place to have would be the guy’s house. All the guy has to do is to cook a delicious meal, make the girl laugh, smile and happy and set the mood that way. Once the mood has set in, then it becomes just easy to get intimate with the girl who is probably very ready to get intimate.

It is a fact and proven that this rule is just a mere belief and nothing else. A poll conducted suggested that 12% get intimate after first date itself, 18% get intimate after second date, 26% get intimate after third date and 44% get intimate after fourth or more dates. So clearly the intimacy is dependent on the two who are dating each other and there is no straightforward rule that the two sleep with each other right after their third date.
