What happens when someone asks you out for a date and it happens to be your first date?
Here are some pointers on first dates – For guys and girls!
For Him
Almost all the guys I know are afraid to ask a girl out on a date! Don’t be shy but don’t be too egoistical either! Egoistical guys make a fool out of themselves, seriously. If the girls said a firm ‘no’, don’t be deterred about it. Try again!
A Slow Start!
I do not recommend going to the movies for first dates. Do you actually want to sit there beside your date doing nothing except watching the movie and eating popcorns? You’re not even allowed to talk! Once you start to open your mouth to talk to your date, there will be other people who will eventually start to shush you. I tried to ignore the shushing once. Later, I found popcorns stuck in my hair.
You can ask the special someone to go out to the park or to get a cup of coffee. The beach is a good place to start. Artistic, romantic, sensitive and imaginative girls got to love the sunset!
Sincere Compliments
Just say it! No wait, don’t say it like this…
“Cool shirt…”
“Nice purse…”
“Splendid heels…”
Say it sincerely. A compliment can strike a conversation on the spot. Find something that really catches your eyes. If you simply lie about how great her shirt is but in reality, it was ugly and she loathed it, wouldn’t that be awkward?
Manners Win!
Some guys, a very few guys, have no manners in dates at all. Personally, I think that guys act rude and act like as if they had escaped from the monkey cage in the zoo because they want to spice things up a bit. Joking and stuff. But that is my point of view. Don’t blame me if I got it wrong, I never been a guy before.
Gentleman If you are out on a lunch, please, use spoons, forks, chopsticks and so on. I know, very few among the male species eat using their hands in front of their dates, sucking on it even, and if you are among those few, please use those things I stated earlier. Smile and talk about what she likes, what she hates, etc. Focus on her more. But make sure that you have your part as well. Take turns asking about this and that. Who knows, maybe you will find a lot of things in common with her.
Breath mints helps. Don’t want to talk and laugh to her with bad breath right?
Insist on paying the food, walk or send her home, listen to your date, manners! With manners you can avoid her parents bashing you to death you can easily get her to like you.
You may buy her a gift before going to the date. A single rose maybe. Not a bouquet, just a flower, to make her feel more relaxed and comfortable.
For Her
When I got my first date and told it to my friends, I could not stop giggling like a maniac after that, while my heart felt like it could rip out from my chest.
Nervous can be a thing that we can overcome. The only question now is how
You can do all sort of stuff to overcome you nervousness. I tried to pinch my hands once in a while. It helps me, but hurts nevertheless.
Be Fashionable
First date equals to first impression. Wear something presentable, fashionable and most importantly, comfortable. Do something with your hair too, rather than let it loose. Wavy, curly, ribbons! Go wild!
Make-up and Cosmetics – Go as light and sweet as possible, unless you want to flirt like mad, go heavy. Put on some lip gloss, a bit of powder, a bit of blusher, and spray on some perfume. Don’t spray it too much as you never know if your date may be allergic to it.
Remnants of Ultra Flirting.
Flirting is fine but make sure you don’t flirt till you scare your date off. So, take a small portion of flirting and show it!
You can start off by complimenting him. Put on your very best, sweet and innocent looking smile ever!
Don’t forget to say your ‘thank you’ or ‘I hope we can do this again’ etc, etc.
Always smile and always pay attention to what you’re date is saying. Even when he gets to the part where he will talk about cars and sports!
This is all I can give you guys out there for now! Good luck!
