Teenagers going out on their first date could very well be suffering from a mixture of emotions. These include nervousness, slight hesitation and loads of confusion. In our confused state of mind we tend to rely on other people’s suggestion on what should be done and what to avoid. Millions of people with millions of suggestion can never make it easy for us.
Teens usually prefer to go out on a date with someone they already know instead of relying on a stranger. In fact blind dates could turn out to be disastrous. Before deciding on a place we need to have some amount of idea as to the likes and dislikes of the person. Teen magazine suggests that you should be considerable enough to ask for their preferences before coming to any sort of conclusion. For example if we are planning to go out for dinner we need to know in advance the taste of the person we are going out with. What kind of food and ambience would the person feel comfortable with? Letting just one person plan out everything would turn out to be monotonous as well as too much dependence. Therefore both should be involved in the planning process.
If you have the skills of great communication your day would be made. Teenagers should know that communication plays a very important role as it throws light on our personality. We should try to keep the conversation light and cheerful so that both feel at ease with the topic. Teens should never discuss about their personal problems or our family history on the very first date. We should reveal our personal life only after we come to know each other well. Keeping away from any kind of controversies and debate is the key to having a successful first date. We should make it a point to focus on pleasant topics rather than making it boring by including our daily routine. Our conversation should revolve around asking questions like what are their hobbies, what they do for fun, which sports they are interested, movies and film stars, etc.
By following these simple steps given by our teen magazine teenagers are sure to have a great first date.
