Are your parents divorced? If your answer is ‘yes’, then remember that you are not alone. Every Teen should know how to handle this kind of sensitive situation and what they can do to help their family or friends in such a situation.
A divorce happens when Husband and Wife decide that it is impossible for them to stay together anymore. They do not wish to be married any more. They sign legal papers which makes them single again. They are then free to marry other people if they wish. It is not very easy to end a marriage. Couples have to spend a lot of time trying to fix the problems but when it is an impossible task then divorce is the ultimate option.
It is obvious that teenagers want their parents to stay together. Some teens have mixed feelings about it as they know that their parents weren’t happy together. If there has been a lot of fights going on then some teens even feel relieved. However an important point to note is that even if your parents are getting divorced they are not ‘divorcing’ their children. It is true that the child of a divorced couple stays with only one parent. The parent who lives somewhere else is still that teen’s mom or dad and this fact is never going to change.
